Ten Research Triangle area firms crack latest Inc. 500 list

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. – A variety of firms across Georgia and North Carolina cracked the latest Inc. 500 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the U.S.

Highest ranking firm in North Carolina is Varrow, an IT services company in Greensboro, with 2009 revenues of $17 million and a three-year growth rate of more than 2,750 percent.

“Achievement of the 89th spot on the Inc 500 is more than a dream realized, it is a testament to our employees’ dedication to excellence and their resolve in meeting and exceeding our customer’s expectations”, said Varrow’s co-founder Dan Weiss in a statement.

The firm, which employs 22, provides consulting and design services.

Top Georgia firm is software company Vendormate, which is located in Georgia. Vendormate ranks 25th with $10.7 million in revenue last year and a growth rate of 7,108 percent.

Triangle area firms include (growth rate, 2009 revenues in parenthesis):

• ShareFile (software) at 104 (2,408 percent, $4.3 million)

• Triad Web Design (IT services) at 196 (1,484 percent; $2.4 million_

• Triangle Direct Media (advertising, marketing) at 247 (1,236 percent, $4 million)

• TowerCo (cellular towers) at 260 (1,198 percent, $108.7 million)

• Connexion Technologies at 268 ()

• PropelMG (advertising, marketing) at 318 (936 percent, $2.3 million)

• iContact (e-mail marketing) at 345 (848 percent, $26.5 million)

• SciMetrika (government services) at 374 (802 percent, $4.8 million)

• Clinipace Worldwide (health services) at 485 (614 percent, $5.1 million)

USFalcon placed just outside the top 500 at 518.
