The Council for Entrepreneurial Development is rolling out a new Web site – Startups247.com – that is designed to provide entrepreneurs information through moderated forums.

The site is organized in five categories:

• Advice for entrepreneurs

• Funding startups

• Sales and marketing

• Human capital

• Business operations

Forums will be moderated by experts in those areas. Current ones include Globalization, which is moderated by N.C. Department of Commerce’s Jean Davis, and Raising Capital, which is overseen by Jason Caplain of Southern Capitol Ventures.

CED plans to use the interaction on the web site to drive future programming.

“This will replace the resources Web page on the CED site and is a resource depository for entrepreneurs anywhere who would normally have to search for this information in several different places on the Web,” said Lillith Anderson, program and special projects manager for CED who is managing the site.

Near-Time, a Chapel Hill startup focused on Web 2.0 technology, is assisting CED with the site.

“This site is meant to support members, support the mission of CED and scale with limited resources of our non-profit organization.” Anderson said.

Access to all resources of the site is free to members of CED. Others interested in using it will have to pay a monthly or annual fee.
