ARMONK, N.Y. — IBM is acquiring privately held Vallent Corporation, a provider of wireless network performance and service management software.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Vallent, which is privately held, is based in Bellevue, Wash.

IBM, which has more than 10,000 employees in Research Triangle Park, N.C., said Vallent’s software would be combined with IBM management expertise to deliver an end-to-end service for network providers across wireline, wireless, Internet protocol-based and converged as well as mobile networks.
