Mayor Pat McCrory will introduce Michael E. Kalogris, CEO of SunCom Wireless in the final 2005 Speaker Series Luncheon December 8 at the Charlotte Marriott Executive Park.
A founder of the company, Kalogris has led the company’s development as one of the leading wireless services carriers in the Southeast. Under his leadership, SunCom Wireless has set industry-leading standards for network performance, customer service and customer retention, leading to consistent growth in subscribers and revenue, and earning a reputation as one of the best-managed wireless companies in the country. He previously was the Chairman of Triton Cellular Partners L.P., which specialized in acquiring and operating rural cellular properties. The company’s assets were sold in 2000 for $1.24 billion. Mr. Kalogris earlier poistions included President and Chief Executive Officer of Horizon Cellular Group, and as President and Chief Executive Officer of Metrophone, a cellular carrier in Philadelphia, the nation’s fourth-largest market.
