Phil Kirk, the leader of the powerful pro-business organization North Carolina Citizens for Business and Industry is stepping down.
The News & Observer reported Friday that Kirk would leave the post as of Dec. 31.
“I’ve been thinking about a career change for the past few months, and now is a good opportunity to explore some new challenges,” Kirk said in a statement cited by The N&O.
