Intersouth Partners is the lead investor in a $5 million Series A round for Artifact, a Maryland-based on-demand software firm.
New Markets Growth Fund and Draper Atlantic also invested in Artifact.
Also investing were Mark Wesker, the chief executive officer of the firm, and Ray Oglethorpe, a former president of America Online.
Artifact develops on-demand software for application development.
