Lancope, a provider of behavior-based threat detection and network intelligence solutions, experienced record growth in 2003 when the company says it more than doubled its customer base.

With the addition of 18 partners during the year, Lancope says its Channel Partner Program has more than tripled in size and contributed 10-plus percent of its total revenues.

The company attributes another 40 percent of revenues to repeat orders from existing early adopter customers, while new customers accounted for nearly 50 percent of revenues. Currently, Lancope’s customer base has deployed several hundred StealthWatch sensors that monitor more than 6 million hosts around the world.

While customers come from a cross-section of verticals, including technology and media, travel and entertainment and healthcare, Lancope says it achieved the greatest inroads in the financial, higher education, telecom and energy industries in 2003, as well as government-related customers such as the Dept. of Defense and state governments.

“–Lancope has become the network security solution of choice for enterprises seeking to optimize security and network operations while leveraging their existing network infrastructure and investments,” said Harland LaVigne, president and CEO of Lancope. “Recent customer wins, including Nielsen Media, Boyd Gaming, Stanford University and Northwestern University, demonstrate our growing success and position us advantageously for 2004.”
