Red Hat is providing Telefonica Deutschland with its Enterprise Linux as the German company’s platform of choice for business operations.
Telefonica, a provider of Internet services and the second largest national IP carrier in Germany, is migrating to Red Hat Enterprise Linux from proprietary Unix.
Based in Munich and Verl, Telefonica supplies businesses with full network services: narrow and broadband access, virtual private networks, integrated voice and data solutions, and voice over IP.
With customer demand for full service server hosting, Telefonica says it needed to expand the service infrastructure with Red Hat.
