WASHINGTON,The Research Triangle Park region ranks sixth among the top 25 metropolitan areas for software-related employment, according to the Software & Information Industry Association.
The SIIA list is based on an analysis of data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics compiled for 2001.
Atlanta dropped off the list this year.
Rankings are based on software-related employment relative to overall population, not simply the number of jobs.
Boulder, Co. is the leader for the fourth consecutive year.
