Tom Fedell, co-founder and former president and chief
executive officer of YOUcentric, will talk about IT sales strategies at the Metrolina Entrepreneurial Council (MEC) meeting on May 16.

YOUcentric was sold in August to JD Edwards & Company for $86 Million. Fedell helped start YOUcentric in 1994 and announced plans in April 2000 to take the customer-relationship management software firm public. But the Charlotte-based company withdrew its IPO plans in October of that year when the tech market plummeted.

Soon after YOUcentric was bought, Fedell met Scott Cardais at an
MEC event. The two men recently formed a venture capital and
consulting firm called Charlotte Capital Plus Partners. The firm
plans to fund five to ten local technology companies in the
amount of $250,000 to $500,000 over the next six months.

The meeting will be from 5:30 to 7:30 PM on May 16 at Big Chill, 911 East Morehead Street in Charlotte. There is a $25 charge for non-MEC members. Those interested in attending may register online.
