I remember having fiber in the middle east about 5 years ago. We are sooo behind!!
I believe you meant "dark" fibre, not "black" fibre. Dark meaning unlit by lasers and carrying no data.
We're not just behind other countries, we're behind the western part of the state. Ashe, Wilkes, Allegany, Watauga and other counties have had fiber for the last 2-3 years. Billboards advertising 1GB Internet. I have it at my cabin on a one lane gravel road. It's available to every household in the county. My 20/8 costs less the TWC 15/2 here.
I'm salivating at the prospect of making that call to TWC and telling them to jump in a lake. It's going to be interesting to see what competition is going to do to this market. I think that TWC maxx is going to get here pretty quickly and U-verse is going to lay fiber so fast your head will spin. Soon we should all have faster and cheaper service regardless of provider and that's a great thing for the triangle.
Hurry up and do it!! we are sooo behind most other countries in the world. Get it going and stop talking Dudes.
SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!! BUZZ, BUZZ, BUZZ!!!
