RTI International is buying MPR Associates, a longtime partner in education research projects.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

MPR is based in California and has additional offices in Washington, D.C. and Portland, ore.

“MPR has a tremendous team of talented staff members and is well respected in the education research community,” said RTI Chief Executive Officer Wayne Holden. “Most important to us, they share our dedication to excellence and passion for education research.”

MPR has a staff of some 80 people.

The acquisition will boost RTI’s education research capabilities, Holden noted.

MPR was founded in 1981.

The deal is expected to close before the year ends.

MPR will become part of RTI’s Education Studies Division.

RTI, an independent nonprofit research and development organization, operates in more than 40 countries and a staff of more than 2,800 people.
