Susan Sanford is the new executive director of the Research Triangle Cleantech Cluster, replacing Jennifer Bosser who recently resigned.

Sanford had been Director of Membership Development and Engagement for the group.

“Sometimes you get lucky and you don’t have to look far to find exactly what you need,” said Ed White, RTCC’s Chairman. “In our case, we know Susan’s passion for our mission and her work ethic. It was an easy decision.”

Bosser left to join the City of Raleigh Senior Manager of Business Retention.

In another move, the RTCC promoted Emmit Owens to Manager of Business Recruitment and Retention from manager of Member Services and Programs.

The RTCC is seeking a Communications and Events Manager to launch new programs.

“We are ready to start 2017 with renewed energy,” said Sanford in a statement. “With more than 350 cleantech companies in the region, the scope of learning and opportunities for engagement between cleantech companies, universities, governments, and real estate developers are limitless.”

A former marketing strategist at IBM, Sanford led Futures for Kids (F4K) beforing joining the RTCC.

Sanford earned a Masters in Public Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill.
