Both the Triangle and Charlotte were leaders in job growth in March. The number of job openings in Raleigh-Durham increased 3.25 percent (the 2nd largest gain in the U.S.) and the metro had 53,684 open job listings in March 2016 according to the Simply Hired U.S. Employment Outlook for March 2016.

The Raleigh-Durham metro area was number two among the top 25 in job growth nationally while Charlotte, at 3.21 percent growth was number three.

The Top Hiring Companies in Raleigh-Durham (in order) were::

  5. IBM

Nationwide job listings have increased in March 2016 with 2.66 percent month-over-month growth, the report says. This marks the fourth consecutive month of gains in U.S job openings, and the strongest month-over-month growth to date in 2016.

The new report shows that job listings have increased in all of the Top 25 largest U.S. metros in March 2016. The metros with the largest gains are: Orlando-Daytona Beach (3.91% month-over-month increase), Raleigh-Durham (3.25%), Charlotte (3.21%), Portland (2.99%), and, Miami-Ft. Lauderdale (2.68%).
