Cheminova, a Danish plant protection supply company, is expanding its U.S. presence, including its North American headquarters in Research Triangle Park.

Company spokesman Thomas Hill said adding employees required a move into more space on the fourth floor of its headquarters at One Park Drive.

Jones Lang LaSalle said Cheminova signed a lease for an additional 13,631 square feet on the fourth floor of the Durham building where it formerly rented offices only on the first floor.

“This is part of our strategic investment plan for the business in North America,” said Hill, who until recently had worked across the road at BASF. “Cheminova’s business in the region grew 23 percent in 2012, and has also shown positive growth thus far in 2013.”

Hill said the company currently has 24 employees in its RTP offices, though it is also adding personnel. It established RTP headquarters in 2008 with the relocation of three people from New Jersey. In addition, it has an office in Arlington, Virginia that houses a regulatory affairs team, and field sales reps work throughout the country. An office in London, Ontario supports its Canadian business.

Cheminova, Inc., is the U.S. subsidiary of Cheminova A/S. Located in Lemvig, Denmark, Cheminova produces, develops and sells plant protection products in more than 100 countries.
