President Joe Biden on Tuesday will travel to Durham as part of his Investing in America tour. One of the first stops on his tour will be Wolfspeed in Durham.
The president will be at the semiconductor manufacturer on Cornwallis Road in Durham to speak about job growth across the country.
The White House made the announcement Friday.

CNN reports his other stops will include more than 20 states, including key battleground states like Georgia, Nevada and Pennsylvania.
Vice President Kamala Harris and first lady Jill Biden are expected to travel with the president. Durham will be the first stop in the tour, which will extend over the next three weeks.
Wolfspeed recently announced a $5 billion investment for its facility, which would create 1,800 new jobs and expand its semiconductor production capacity.

Wolfspeed CEO Gregg Lowe on Friday released a statement about Biden’s visit:

Biden and his team to its North Carolina headquarters, where they will see firsthand our cutting-edge facilities for producing Silicon Carbide. Silicon Carbide is essential to accelerating the adoption of EVs, delivering energy savings to consumers, and meeting U.S. emission reduction targets while reducing U.S. dependence on foreign production of critical semiconductor technology.”
Biden was in Durham 13 years ago as vice president visiting Cree, which helped the development of Wolfspeed.
