CONCORD – Max Solutions, Inc., will invest $27 million in the City of Concord to establish a new manufacturing facility that will focus on sustainability.

The facility will be the company’s second manufacturing facility, and is expected to create 150 jobs, according to a statement from the company.

Max Solution’s project will be facilitated, in part, by a Job Development Investment Grant (JDIG) that was approved by the state’s Economic Investment Committee last week.  Under the terms of the agreement, the state authorizes the potential reimbursement to the company of up to $1,250,250 spread across a 12 year grant period, if other terms are met.

The announcement comes a few months after Eli Lilly announced they would construct a $1 billion manufacturing plant in Concord.

Significant milestone

Dennis Kaltman, the company’s president and chief operating officer, called the Concord facility a significant milestone for the company in a statement.

And the firm’s CEO, Marc Shore, explained the rationale for selecting Concord, as well.

“Our Concord location will have the same state-of-the-art equipment as its sister facility in Bristol, PA, providing the capacity to better serve our customer base up and down the Eastern seaboard,” said Shore.  The facility will be approximately 150,000 square feet, and will manufacture the company’s differentiated packaging products to customers in healthcare and consumer product industries in North and South Carolina and Virginia.

According to a statement from the office of North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper, the average annual salary for the 150 positions is $67,253.

The company’s first facility is in Bristol, Pa., and becomes operational in July 2022.  The Concord facility is anticipated to open in October 2022.

The company also announced today that it has hired Richard O’Leary as its chief financial officer.  O’Leary led an integration between IFF and a division of DuPont, during a $45 billion merger, according to a statement.

Max Solutions was founded in November 2021.

“We look forward to partnering with North Carolina as we identify and train the skilled labor necessary to operate our facility,” said Kaltman in a statement last week.
