Food falling from the sky? Holly Springs expands drone food delivery
Delivery by drone is expanding throughout central North Carolina, including the suburbs of Wake County.
Posted — UpdatedTwenty different restaurant in Holly Springs are available for drone delivery.
“As prices continue [to rise], and ground transportation becomes more expensive, the alternatives are great, especially in a COVID situation," said Aaron Levitt, principal engineer for Holly Springs.
"It's the convenience," said Hassane Fassih, owner of Mediterra Grill. "It’s going to be a short time when you compare [Flytrex] with DoorDash.”
An order only takes about 30 to 40 minutes to be delivered, the Flytrex app says.
"Why wait for next-day delivery, when you get your next iPhone in 15 minutes from Best Buy for the same price?" said Yariv Bash, CEO of Flytrex.
Flytrex is also operating in Fayetteville and Raeford. Later this year, company plans to build its first drone production center in Liberty, North Carolina.
To download, Flytrex's app and get food delivered to you, go to the app store and search Flytrex.
