RALEIGH – Textile manufacturer Kayser-Roth is laying off more than 120 workers at its hosiery plant in Lumberton, according to a layoff notice filed with the state of North Carolina.
The company cited market conditions as the reason for the decision.
Layoffs will be made in three rounds during December, company CEO Nicola Gallotti wrote.
The Lumberton plant is one of three manufacturing facilities in N.C. operated by Kayser-Roth.
Employers across the state have filed 84 notices saying nearly 7,500 workers will or have lost jobs so far this year.
That’s double the notices filled in 2022 which included loss of 4,200 jobs.
