Job openings are down in the Triangle, but these 50 companies are hiring

RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – The number of job openings in the Triangle fell this week, according to the most recent edition of the WRAL TechWire Jobs Report.

Some good news, though—at the “Top 50” firms that TechWire tracks, hiring needs remained steady this week, with the companies showing over 1,900 openings.

In the wider Triangle market, the exclusive WRAL TechWire Jobs Report shows 231,353 active listings (not accounting for post duplications), a 2.5% decrease from last week. But the “Top 50” are a barometer of what’s happening in the Triangle tech sector, and all 50 companies on the list show job openings in the Triangle this week.

Companies with over 100 job postings this week include Fidelity Investments (279 postings), First Citizens (168), Wolfspeed (117), IQVIA (100), and Novo Nordisk (100).

NetApp showed a big bump in hiring, with 18 new positions added this week (31 postings total). Meanwhile, GSK showed 22 fewer postings this week (63 total).

More IT-related openings with the NC Government

As of September 25, 2023, data tracked by TechWire’s exclusive jobs report shows:

46 job openings (-2 from last week) in IT-related positions with the North Carolina state government (1,177 jobs total, -83 from last week)
7 job openings (-2 from last week) in IT-related positions with Wake County government (44 jobs total, -1 from last week)
3 job openings (-1 from last week) in IT-related positions with the City of Raleigh government (103 jobs total, -6 from last week)
