The hashtag “SeptemberSurge” has been trending on TikTok, with nearly 6 million views and a flood of videos explaining a September hiring trend, USA Today reports.

In one video, corporate recruiter Chanelle Howell explains the September Surge and urges job seekers, “Do not wait until September, October, to try and take advantage of this surge.”

These 50 companies are hiring in the Triangle

The “Top 50” firms that TechWire tracks are a barometer of what’s happening in the Triangle tech sector, and all 50 companies on the list are showing job openings in the Triangle this week.

Fidelity Investments once again showed the most openings (261 postings), but IQVIA added the most positions, increasing by +16 this week (97 total postings).

Other companies with over 100 job postings this week include First Citizens (151) and Wolfspeed (112).

More IT-related openings with the NC Government

WRAL TechWire also has an exclusive roundup of job openings within NC government, and there are nine new IT-related job openings this week.

As of August 28, 2023, data tracked by TechWire’s exclusive jobs report shows:

  • 49 job openings (-7 from last week) in IT-related positions with the North Carolina state government (1,209 jobs total, -1 from last week)
  • 9 job openings (+/- 0 from last week) in IT-related positions with Wake County government (57 jobs total, +/- 0 from last week)
  • 6 job openings (+4 from last week) in IT-related positions with the City of Raleigh government (110 jobs total, -2 from last week)
