RALEIGH – Koji Sato, the new CEO on Toyota, came to Raleigh on Thursday to talk about the company’s mammoth battery plant being built in the Triad. And the reception was warm.

“This [Thursday] morning, Gov. Cooper met with Koji Sato, Global CEO of Toyota,” Cooper’s Twitter account tweeted. “With their new EV battery plant, Toyota is creating good-paying jobs in the Triad while helping North Carolina lead the way to a clean energy future.”

Sato was named CEO earlier this year in a management shakeup.

Just three weeks ago Toyota disclosed plans to invest a further $2 billion in the North Carolina factory.
