CHAPEL HILL – TrueBridge Capital, led by veteran investors Mel Williams and Edwin Poston, are raising a new fund targeting blockchain.

According to an SEC filing, TrueBridge is aiming to raise $125 million for TrueBridge Blockchain I. And so far 39 investors have signed on with $55.3 million in commitments.

Williams, the firm’s leader, signed the form.

Before launching TrueBridge along with Poston in 2007, Williams co-founded the UNC Management Company and helped manage more than $2 billion capital for the University of North Carolina endowment fund, according to his profile.
