NC IDEA Spring 2023 Grants Information Session: Triangle

NC IDEA is hosting a statewide series of information sessions covering its upcoming grant opportunities for North Carolina startups: MICRO ($10,000) and SEED ($50,000). Join to learn more about the programs and how to apply. Applications open on Jan. 30 and close on Feb. 27.

The NC Life Sciences Virtual Networking Group will host a talk with Ute Galm, the VP of enzyme and strain development at RTP-based Curie Co.

Regional Transportation Alliance’s 21st Annual Meeting: State of Mobility

Jan. 24, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. (online)

This year’s Regional Transportation Alliance meeting will be a two-part series, with an online event on Jan. 24 and an in-person luncheon on Jan. 31 at the Embassy Suites. This event is a chance to meet with hundreds of regional leaders to gain insights on current and emerging trends in transportation.

RevTech Labs Fintech + Insurtech Accelerator Info Session

In NC State’s annual Make-A-Thon program, student teams will be tasked with creating the best solution to a sustainability challenge. Then, they’ll pitch their ideas to local judges for a chance to win $1,000 to $3,000 in prize money.

Applications Open for NC IDEA’s Spring 2023 Grants Cycle

Jan. 30

NC IDEA will open the application window for its two flagship grant programs, serving North Carolina tech startups: NC IDEA MICRO (small, project-based grants of $10,000) and NC IDEA SEED ($50,000 for startups with a proven concept). Applications close on Feb. 27.

FSPV: Fundamentals of Solar PV Design & Installation

Jan. 30 – Feb. 3 @NCCETC Module 5 Training Room

This 40-hour course will cover the basics of designing and installing photovoltaic systems, with an optional hands-on installation day taking place after the online program.

Application Deadline: UNC KickStart Commercialization Grants

This award program offers $5,000 to $50,000 to help early-stage companies meet commercial milestones. In addition to funding, the program also provides access to business experts. Requests for proposals are solicited quarterly from faculty founders.
