RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK — RTI international, one of the world’s largest non-profit research institutions, has reorganized its largest business unit of more than 3,000 people, in a move it says “enables growth.”

RTI announced the changes Tuesday, labeling the move as a “redesign,” the purpose of which is to “align with client needs and accelerate growth.”

The redesign focuses on social, statistical and environmental sciences, or SSES.

“We have experienced outstanding growth and created positive impact over the past few years,” said Amy Roussel, RTI executive vice president, social, statistical and environmental sciences (SSES), in the announcement.  “This client-centric move enables us to create even bolder solutions for RTI’s valued clients, to collaborate with our partners more effectively, and to further support our excellent staff in developing their careers.”

Roussel was named to the SSES post in August.
