RALEIGH – Startup WISER Systems is building up a considerable arsenal of intellectual property.
The Raleigh-based company, which focuses on real-time location and tracking systems, recently landed another patent for its technology – the fifth so far over the past year.
WISER is emerging as a leader in real-time location and tracking systems [RTLS], utilizing what it calls a “proprietary ultra-wideband (UWB) positioning system.”
“We continue to keep innovation as our number one priority,” said Dr. Seth Hollar, the company’s chief technology officer and primary inventor of WISER’s  Redundant Radio Localization and Tracking (RRLT) technology. “From our beginning as a company, we’ve been developing novel solutions to improve accuracy and performance to be the best in our field in localization.”
Recent patents cover automatic antenna calibration and atomic clock synchronization to determining the location of unknown devices in a synchronized environment, the company says.
