RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – If you are looking to launch a career at a startup in the Triangle these are not the best of times to do so.
The job market may be changing week-by-week as WRAL TechWire reports each Tuesday in its exclusive Jobs Report, but in the startup ecosystem, there’s a clear trendline: decreasing job openings. While last week’s report showed a slowing growth of postings on all 15 startup job board searches tracked by WRAL TechWire, this week, nine of the 15 searches found the opposite. Listings fell with a decrease of more than 2,000 jobs or 9.14% of postings in just a week. Year to date, advertised jobs have increased only slightly (9).
Not unanimous trend
But Scot Wingo, serial entrepreneur and CEO of startup Get Spiffy, says he’s still hiring. And other startups are as well, he adds, based on his observations and conversations with other executives.
For those interested in the entrepreneurial economy, job seekers can also find local startup positions at these job boards and websites, as tracked by the WRAL TechWire Jobs Report.
