RALEIGH – Bandwidth’s newest product release provides a comprehensive disaster recovery solution. Known as Call Assure™ and released on Thursday, the product expands the company’s offerings in the toll-free segment.

According to a statement released by the company, the release will give current customers “peace of mind for their high-value U.S. toll-free calls.”

The newest capability in the product suite is alternative routing, which fully insulates a call from the core network, which Bandwidth notes would protect “against an extraordinary disruption, such as a fire, natural disaster or cyberattack” in its statement.

John Bell, the company’s chief product officer, called the new release an upgrade to Bandwidth’s existing capabilities and added that the company is now the “first and only provider” to offer such a solution in the marketplace.

The company’s webpage notes that about two of every three customers prefer to use the phone to call a business, but network outages, particularly during extreme events such as a natural disaster, could leave customers disconnected from accessing reliable connection to businesses and information.

Earlier this year, Bandwidth launched a product known as “Send-To,” which is a messaging app designed for use on Microsoft Teams.
