RALEIGH – An international provider of medical image management solutions that acquired a Durham-based firm last year and selected Raleigh for its new corporate headquarters location, has now selected an office space.

Intelerad Medical Systems leased 28,061 square feet of office space, the sixth floor of the Midtown Plaza building along Six Forks Road earlier this year.

“We ultimately selected Midtown Plaza because of the convenient location, the abundance of surrounding restaurants and amenities, and access to outdoor space that create a world-class office environment for our employees,” said Brian Dienes, a senior manager of acquisition integration at Intelerad Medical Systems.

But the company chose the Triangle over other alternatives due to the region’s talent and labor market and the region’s existing strength in the healthcare sector, said Dienes in an interview with WRAL TechWire.

“Raleigh has one of the strongest job markets in America,” said Dienes, citing a recent report from The Wall Street Journal that placed the region in the top five job markets in the country.  “This ranking is a result of the area’s well-known universities and attractions, a favorable climate that allows for scenic outdoor activities year-round, and an affordable cost of living for residents,” said Dienes.

It’s also home to “world-class health systems,” Dienes told WRAL TechWire, as well as the nation’s largest research park (that’s Research Triangle Park), and is home to existing and emerging companies in the life sciences, healthcare, and technology sectors.

Welcome to the Triangle

“We’re currently preparing the space and looking forward to welcoming our employees in the coming months,” said Dienes.  While the more than 850 company employees will retain flexibility in work location, said Dienes, the new headquarters will provide a work location for nearly 200 employees.

And the company is hiring for more than 40 roles in Raleigh, according to the company’s careers website.  Those roles are among the more than 60,000 open jobs in the Triangle, according to ZipRecruiter, as reported in the latest WRAL TechWire Jobs Report.

“We feel confident in the local labor market and access to top talent, as Raleigh leads the country as one of the hottest job markets,” said Dienes.”

The company acquired four companies in 2021, including buying HeartIT, which is based in the Triangle.  The other three 2021 acquisitions were Ambra Health, LUMEDX, and Insignia Medical Systems.
