RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – WRAL TechWire keeps tabs on the latest and greatest meetups, panels, workshops, conferences, application deadlines and all things happening in the entrepreneurial, technology and business communities in the Triangle and across North Carolina.

Following is a list of events coming up across Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and the greater Triangle area through the end of April. Many events will be held in person, as some organizers are returning to live events.

The State Energy Conference is back in-person this year, featuring networking opportunities, sessions on best practices, successful case studies, panel discussions and more.

Hospitality Hiring Hour

April 26, 4-5 p.m. @Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club

Durham’s Washington Duke Inn and Golf Club, JB Duke Hotel and The Lodge at Duke Medical Center are on the hunt for top talent in the hospitality industry. Job seekers can attend a weekly event series every Tuesday through May 31 to meet with managers/staff to ask questions and learn about the available job opportunities.

Cary Chamber Eye Opener Breakfast Series

Cary Chamber’s next Eye Opener Breakfast Series event will feature Adam Pittman, president of Computerbilities, who will share tips for dealing with cybersecurity threats.

1 Million Cups RTP

April 27, 9-10 a.m. (online)

1 Million Cups, presented by Kauffman, is a weekly informal pitch event for the startup community. Join for free coffee and entrepreneurial support as local startups deliver their presentations.

Selecting the Right GPS Antenna for Your Device

April 27, 1-2 p.m. (online)

This virtual lunch and learn will cover how GNSS works, how to read data charts and radiation plots, the difference between right-hand circular polarization and linear polarization, and more.

IdeaFest Business Pitch Competition

April 28, 1 p.m. @Cottontail Weddings & Events (in Virginia)

The Launch Place, a startup fund based in Virginia but serving local startups through its RTP office, is hosting its seventh annual IdeaFest Business Pitch Competition. Awards totaling $10,000 will be divided among the top three competitors, and winners will also be eligible to receive 25 hours of free business consulting from The Launch Place. The event is free and open to the public.

Virtual NC HUB & NC DBE Certification Information Session

The City of Raleigh is hosting monthly virtual workshops on the benefits of the HUB (Historically Underutilized Business) and DBE (Disadvantaged Business Enterprise) certification programs.

Triangle Brews + Bytes

April 28, 4:30-6:30 p.m. @Boxyard RTP

NC TECH will bring the Triangle’s tech community together for a springtime networking event in RTP. This event is free for both NC TECH members and non-members.

NC Chamber Transportation & Infrastructure Summit

April 28 @McKimmon Center (and online)

Geared towards business, transportation and infrastructure leaders in North Carolina, this in-person conference (with a virtual option) will focus on what the state’s transportation and infrastructure networks will look like in the coming years.
