DURHAM – Venture capital firm Pappas Capital is looking to raise a huge new investment fund – as much as $250 million – and is working with an investment firm to generate the cash.

According to an SEC filing made Monday, Pappas is looking to raise Pappas Life Science Ventures VI, LP.

The targeted amount is more than triple the $85.8 million Pappas raised in its fund V in 2019.

Pappas Capital – led by longtime venture capitalist Art Pappas – focuses on life science investments.

Assisting Pappas is the fund raise is BA Securities LLC.

The filing says that two representatives of the firm are looking to raise money from investors across more than 20 states.
