CHARLOTTE – NTT Ltd., a global technology services company and subsidiary of holding company NTT Incorporated, will lay off 151 employees beginning in December 2021, according to a notice filed by the company’s North American operation with the North Carolina Department of Commerce.

“NTT Ltd. is undergoing the next phase of our global transformation that will improve client centricity, employee experience and operational efficiency,” said Evan Jordan, client experience director at NTT Ltd., and a spokesperson for the company.  “Where required, we made a strategic decision to partner with leading sourcing organizations to help us achieve our goals.”

The layoffs are expected to be permanent and will occur during a 14-day period starting on December 6, the company’s notice indicated, and will occur at the company’s Ballantyne-area office.

According to the notice, the company “will be conducting employee separations of employees that work at, or report into, its facility located at 110006 Rushmore Drive, Suite 300, Charlotte, NC 28277.”

Jordan told WRAL TechWire that the company employs some 40,000 people globally.  151 people affiliated with the company appeared in a WRAL TechWire search of LinkedIn profiles, with a search parameter of a location defined as Charlotte, NC, or the surrounding area.

“Additionally, this will allow NTT to continue to invest in new innovations across our IT services and infrastructure, networks, cloud and edge, all growth opportunities for the company, such as our recently rolled out Private 5G Network-as-a-Service capability and data center builds throughout the world,” Jordan noted.
