Biomanufacturing Training and Education Center’s response to COVID-19 helps keep NCSU a safer place

During the coronavirus crisis, a creative partnership emerged to use alcohol from biofuel production to tackle a hand-sanitizer shortage – and keep returning NC State students, staff and faculty safer, as well as people at the NC Museum of Natural Sciences in Raleigh. The reaction is an example of the state’s growing life science sector’s ability to respond to a crisis while at the same time generating more jobs.
