After peaceful protests turned violent recently in Raleigh, Johnny Hackett was among a handful of business owners standing guard to protect property. It came in the wake of the killing of George Floyd, a black man, at the hands of police. Today, he, along with other African American business leaders in the community, are calling for lasting change.
