Google launches ‘Rolling Study Halls’ to attack digital divide – an idea born in NC (+ video)
Lilyn Hester, who works for Google in the Triangle, hatched an idea for the tech giant as a means of attacking the digital divide: Rolling Study Halls, buses that are equipped with Wi-Fi and supported by teachers as well as mentors. The program formally launched today in Colorado. Hester shares her story.
