RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – WRAL TechWire continues to broaden its coverage of the technology and life science ecosystem across North Carolina with another expansion of its calendar package.

Today, due to the increasing growth of events and with more people reading about as well as wanting to list their events, TechWire is breaking its weekly calendar news preview into two parts to provide more coverage but with a sharper focus. The goal is to make events you might be interested in attending easier to locate:

Both are part of the “Headliners” package.

The two-part overview adds to “On the Horizon,” the weekly preview of upcoming events several weeks out as well as a roundup featuring the growing number of regular meetups in the Triangle. These roundups are published each Monday, but the information is always available through our Events section of the website.

And it’s much more than just a list of events, offering details about programs and speakers as well as relevant registration information.

Also available to readers every day is our constantly updated interactive calendar.

Veteran writer Shannon Cuthrell handles the calendar for TechWire and is constantly looking for new items to add.

“From the moment we decided to launch a new WRAL TechWire website, we recognized the importance of providing a menu of calendar items to meet a growing need across the Triangle and the state,” said WRAL TechWire Editor Rick Smith.

“The continuing growth of the startup community coupled with the expansion we continue to see in the tech and life science sectors in our state means that there are more events – more opportunities for people to get involved – than ever before. Shannon was entrusted with the Herculean task of bringing all these elements together, and the calendar package is one reason why our readership continues to grow at a rapid rate.

“Shannon has created one of the most comprehensive calendar packages in the region, let alone North Carolina.”
