Syngenta AG, which has North American headquarters in Greensboro and operations in Research Triangle Park, said it is voluntarily delisting its registered shares from the New York Stock Exchange and end its US Securities and Exchange Act public reporting requirement.

Its last trading day will be January 5.

Syngenta (NYSE:SYT) has been acquired by China National Chemical Corp. (ChemChina) in a $43 billion deal earlier this year.

The agricultural technology company employs about 730 people in Greensboro and 400 at a Research Triangle Park facility.

Globally, the company employs 28,000 in 90 countries. It sells products that protect crops and seeds from weeds, insects and disease and the effects of heat and cold.
