Cree Inc. and MaxBright LED Lighting Technology have filed a joint notice of settlement of the lawsuit Cree filed in 2016 accusing MaxBright of infringing on its LED patents, design and trademark.
The settlement terms were not disclosed. The settlement notice was filed in U.S. District Court in October
Durham-based Cree alleged that MaxBright intentionally sold fake, pirated and counterfeit items bearing Cree marks in the suit if filed in November 2016.
MaxBright responded in January and denied “each and every allegation.”
Cree (Nasdaq:CREE) has filed numerous other lawsuits against companies it believes infringe on its intellectual property.
