The Internet Summit returns to Raleigh for its 10th annual conference on Nov. 14-16, promising a bigger lineup with high-profile speakers and an emphasis on digital marketing.

Here’s a preview in a Q&A with Eric Gregg of Tech Media, which puts on the event.

  • How will it be any different this year?

This year’s Summit is the 10th annual, so we’re taking out all the stops to celebrate that. More speakers, more stages, more content, more parties, more attendees.

We’ve got lots of fun surprises in store as well. If you have anything to do with digital marketing or strategy, this is the year you don’t want to miss. It’s going to be a memorable experience for attendees.

  • Who are big-name speakers?

We’re really excited to bring [best-selling author] Seth Godin to Raleigh this year. In terms of the marketing world, Seth is the pinnacle.

We’ve had countless great speakers over the years but Seth’s talk will top them all in terms of inspirational ideas for both marketers and entrepreneurs.

How many other entrepreneurs and marketers have their own action figure?

In addition to Seth, we’ve got our best line up in the ten year history of the Summit….from the co-founder of Netflix to dozens of senior executives from brands like Amazon, LinkedIn, Facebook, Showtime, Salesforce, Verizon, Buzzfeed, CBS, The Onion and Flipboard just to name a few.

We have some additional final speakers we’re excited to be announcing over the next three weeks, including one of the top 10 most popular all-time TED talk presenters. Stay tuned.

How has the conference changed over the years?

Since we started the event 10 years ago, it’s really become more focused on digital marketing. Our goals are to really help provide the latest insight and best practices to those who are involved with marketing and growing their business on the web. Obviously the topics have changed quite a bit from when we started. The world of digital strategy changes so rapidly – Internet Summit changes along with what’s relevant today.

Is it still Tech Media’s flagship event?

While we now produce events around the country, Raleigh is our home market and Internet Summit will always be our marquee event.

It’s exciting to celebrate the 10th birthday for Internet Summit with a capacity audience of around 2,500 attendees this year.

You tend to bring back some of the same top speakers to events. Who are your top draws?

We’ve been fortunate to have hosted Seth Godin in a few other markets and he has been the biggest draw and most well received speaker we’ve ever had, which is why we’re excited to have him in Raleigh for the first time. Steve Wozniak and Mark Cuban are two other speakers who have been solid draws for us in terms of keynotes.
