Life science QuintilesIMS is looking to sell its contract sales business for around $1 billion, according to a report.

According to Reuters, QuintilesIMS has hired Goldman Sachs Group to work on the sales process.

QuintilesIMS had no comment on the report, which says the company is seeking to “prune some of its non-core businesses.”

Reuters cited four unnamed sources for the story. “No deal is certain,” the sources noted.

QuintilesIMS operates dual headquarters in Durham and in Danbury, Conn.

The two companies merged last year in a deal valued at some $17.6 billion.
