Lenovo, which is battling HP for the No. 1 PC seller around the globe, is rolling out PCs as a Service through which customers pay a fixed monthly fee in exchange for the latest hardware, upgrades and services.
Lenovo PCaaS was announced Tuesday morning at the “Lenovo Transform” tech conference in New York.
“Designed to eliminate the burden of buying, deploying and managing computing assets, PCaaS increases product lifecycle efficiency and reduce overall total cost of ownership,” the global tech giant, which operates one of its two global headquarters in Morrisville, says.
By offering the latest equipment, upgrades and service without any upfront capital costs, Lenovo is hoping to land corporate customers who want the latest tech without the challenge of constant upgrades and being stuck with hardware that becomes quickly outdated in today’s rapidly changing tech world.
Lenovo touted the ThinkStation P320 Tiny as part of the program.

59% (PwC report) said that an employer’s provision of state-of-the art technology was important to them when
considering a job,” Lenovo says.
The new service enables companies to show workers “you are adapting to the trends and allowing your employees to be more engaged, while enjoying cost savings and better IT-resource allocation.”
