Startup Looqsie comes to the CED Tech Venture conference touting what it calls the “next generation search engine.”

Look-see, get it?

The Charlotee-based company is among the presenters at CED Tech Venture on Tuesday and Wednesday in Raleigh.

  • What is the focus of your business?

Looqsie is the Next Generation Search Engine, where people, instead of web crawlers and complex algorithms, curate search results.

  • What is the top pain point/business application you are seeking to address?

80% of Google search queries are exactly the same, yet we do nothing to work together. We have grown to accept “berrypicking” search where we open links in new tabs and gather bits and pieces from each to formulate our answer.

  • What makes it unique?

Search has barely changed for the past 2 decades. Looqsie is here to disrupt the way we search by allowing people to collaborate and make search relevant again. The web has become oversaturated with keyword crammed content, baited meta titles and content that seems to be copied and pasted on every platform. In the end, humans can provide more relevant results. We need to search together.

  • Why should investors be interested in your firm?

The timing is perfect. Search relevancy has been a big issue for all the big players. Looqsie’s shared revenue model is a win for both users and advertisers. Users create collections of the best links on a particular query and ad revenue is shared per collection. This model fuels the growth and has been proven on platforms such as YouTube.
