This month’s job list includes a mix of companies from around the Triangle, from foundations to job matching platforms to analytics software providers to brand new startups. This Google Ventures-backed startup is a unique job matching platform where college students can earn money and job offers by solving problems (aka “challenges”) that are posted by businesses. The San Francisco company expanded to the East Coast in 2014 and is looking for a sales development representative to manage leads at its Durham office. Check out the full description on AngelList if you’re interested.


For years, the NC IDEA Foundation has helped push startup growth with its biannual grant program and Groundwork Labs accelerator. The foundation recently kicked off a new program that funds organizations that partner with startups. With its bigger mission, NC IDEA will add a new member to its team in Durham—a community and office coordinator. Check out the job description here.

Council for Entrepreneurial Development

As its member base grows, the Durham membership organization for entrepreneurs will add two managerial positions to help expand and run its programs. One criteria for new employees is a love of data and using it to make decisions. Read more and apply here

Cult Entertainment Group

This Durham startup provides digital marketing services to members of the music and entertainment industry. Cult Entertainment Group is looking for a full-time marketing associate to assist in creating and executing social media content for musicians. Apply on AngelList here.


This new startup has a suite of analytics tools that help businesses make data-backed decisions about how to best serve their customers. Decision8 wants to expand its small team in Durham and hire a director of business development. AngelList has the application.


Currently in beta, this Raleigh startup is developing an electronic alternative to the patient onboarding process. Doctors can use its web-based dashboard to build medical forms and give them to patients. BitSight Technologies

BitSight offers a range of National Science Foundation-backed platforms that strengthen organizations’ online security, in order to prevent cyber breaches. The Massachusetts-based startup is hiring software engineers to join its new team in a Glenwood South office in Raleigh. Read more and apply here.


Rist is a new startup in Raleigh that wants to bring something new to a wearables market that’s dominated by big companies like Apple and FitBit. It’s a cost-effective alternative to other wearables, complete with an enhanced design and a larger range of functions. Several positions are open at the Cary software company that raised $16 million last year. The company provides cloud-based IT service desk solutions, and jobs include a content specialist and solutions consultant in Cary. Unbundling the homebuying process is a big job, but a big venture capital raise in 2015 is helping this Durham startup make it happen. A mobile app developer is needed for this team’s Durham office, or take a chance on Silicon Valley by applying for an open UX/UI designer position in San Mateo. Details here.


With a collaboration platform used by sports teams across the NCAA and a new deal with Adidas underway, the Durham startup founded by a Duke University football player is moving fast. A pair of engineers and project manager positions are open today.


This venture-backed Durham startup is building a platform for real estate agents that uses predictive analytics and machine learning to determine the people in their network most likely to buy a home at any given time. It also suggests ways for agents to target them, and integrates with leading real estate technologies to make it easier to do so. Recently acquired by PopSugar, this New York City startup with UNC-Chapel Hill roots and a Cary-based investor is hiring a development team in Durham, with positions for senior and junior developers and front-end and QA engineers.
