Bunker RDU to offer free incubator, mentoring to military vets

Military veteran entrepreneurs will soon have access to free incubator space in an incubator created by The Bunker RDU, part of a national non-profit organization.

The Raleigh News and Observer reports that Bunker RDU, part of a Chicago-based network of incubators, expects to start working with a group of 15 to 20 veteran run startups early next year.

Bunker RDU will provide six months of free space to entrepreneurs with a military background early next year. That includes a four-month entrepreneur in residence program, also free, and daily access to mentors and advisors provided by Groundwork Labs and HQ Raleigh.

The Research Triangle Park Foundation is providing about 1,500-square-feet free space to Bunker RDU in the five-story building The Frontier. Entrepreneurs will also have access to co-working space on the first floor of the building.

The Frontier will host VetStart, a free event where veterans can learn about resources available to entrepreneurs starting a new business. Register here: www.startupveterans.org/vetstart/.
