NC IDEA picks 26 semifinalists for latest round of startup grants

26 emerging startups from across North Carolina are semifinalists for the latest round of grants from economic development group NC IDEA.

The winners will receive as much as $50,000 in non-dilutive grants.

The semifinalists were selected from 145 applicants.

They include:

  • Cloudlight – Charlotte, NC
  • ColoWrap – Durham, NC
  • Craniovation – Durham, NC
  • dReiniger – Charlotte, NC
  • Essay Assay – Durham, NC
  • ImVere – Carrboro, NC
  • Inline – Charlotte, NC
  • iScribes – Durham, NC
  • KWIPPED – Wilmington, NC
  • LinkUs – Wilmington, NC
  • Luxury Shoe Club – Cary, NC
  • MeTree Co. – Durham, NC
  • Mindset Systems – Raleigh, NC
  • Nicotrax – Raleigh, NC
  • Reportory – Winston-Salem, NC
  • Rx Maker – Durham, NC
  • SeaChange Technologies – Raleigh, NC
  • SoftJoint – Apex, NC
  • The Torch – Charlotte, NC
  • Trinket – Durham, NC
  • Urban Offsets – Greensboro, NC
  • Vijilent – Raleigh, NC

The next stage of the process includes a more detailed business plan to be submitted by the middle of April.

Finalists will be selected for in-person presentations to a review panel.

Winners will be announced in June.

NC IDEA has awarded some $3.7 million in grants to 93 companies since the program’s launch in 2006.
