CHARLOTTE, N.C. – AT&T (NYSE:T) is looking to fill nearly 100 new technician positions in North Carolina.

The company announced on Friday that the jobs now available are needed to meet growing demand for AT&T’s Internet, voice and video networks, including the expansion of U-verse with AT&T GigaPower solution.

Locally, a company spokesperson said, there are six new technical positions open in Chapel Hill, two in Wendell and 39 in Raleigh.

U-verse with AT&T GigaPower launched on Dec. 8 in Carrboro, Cary, Chapel Hill, Raleigh and Winston-Salem, and also plans to bring the service to Durham, Charlotte and Greensboro. U-verse with AT&T GigaPower provides customers’ access to the fastest Internet available from AT&T, featuring speeds up to 1 gigabit per second, the company reported.

In addition to its technician positions, AT&T is looking to fill nearly 200 business sales and call center positions in North Carolina. In 2014, AT&T filled nearly 900 jobs in the state.

AT&T currently employs more than 6,700 people throughout the state.
