Many of us are guilty of sharing too little detail on LinkedIn. Others share too much.

Most of us don’t quite understand why people are endorsing us for random skills. Nor do we know if recommendations really matter. And I’m still trying to figure out what makes people share our ExitEvent content with their LinkedIn networks, and if I should be publishing some content directly to the site.

Rob Humphrey, the Raleigh-based senior manager of content marketing in LinkedIn’s talent solutions division, has the answers to most of these questions and shared them before a room full of entrepreneurs at last week’s HelpFest at American Underground @Main. We filmed his talk, along with a Q&A session afterward.
