Sensus smart water tech wins industry recognition

Utility metering company Sensus has been named one of the “Companies to Watch in 2013” by Smart Grid News.

The industry publication said that the award((/a}} recognizes Raleigh-based Sensus’ role in advancing technology in “smart water networks.” In a 2012 survey of more than 180 utilities, Sensus found that the utilities are losing water to leaks to the tune of $9.6 billion. The company estimates that smart water technologies can save up to $12.5 billion. 

Smart Grids News’ “Companies to Watch” is now in its fourth year. Awards are determined by reader votes. Sensus was the only award recipient recognized for smart meter networks.
