Job seekers will have a chance to be pitched themselves when prospective employers talk about their firms and positions they are seeking to fill at the “Tech Jobs Under the Big Top” event.

Some 75 jobs are expected to be available from 12 companies at the reverse job fair, which is set for Oct. 11 starting at 5:30 p.m. at the American Tobacco Historic District’s Bay 7 venue in Durham.

The “Big Top” fair is put on by Triangle Tech Media.

“This isn’t your father’s job fair. The hottest rising tech companies in the area will pitch to you,” the event’s website reads.

In addition to jobs pitches, the event includes hot dogs, beer, aerial artists, acrobats, popcorn, music more as part of the big top theme.

Job openings include software developers, sales and marketing, information technology and more.

“We are very excited to have this mix of companies and open positions,” said Chris Heivly, the founder of the Big Top event series who also is the co-managing partner of the Triangle Startup Factory, a new business investor and accelerator. “We expect a minimum of 75 open positions including positions for people in sales, marketing, customer support, project management and, of course, software development.”

Each of the previous three events have sold out with 350 job seekers in attendance.
