Just about anyone interested in emerging technology companies across North Carolina should already be registered to attend the Tech Venture Conference from the Council for Entrepreneurial Development.

Not only are nearly 80 startups and established tech firms making presentations, but many deal-makers from across the country are going to be in Raleigh over the next three days.

The action gets underway Monday night with the NC IDEA Grant Showcase from 5:30-8:30 p.m. The event is open to investors only, however. The NC IDEA grant program is one of the most important funding mechanisms for new businesses in the state, especially since the grants up to $50,000 are non-dilutive.

Highlights for Tuesday include a job fair (if you are looking for work, show up!) and an entrepreneur workshop.

That workshop has a lot of appeal. Here’s the pitch from CED:

“Join this entrepreneur-only, TED-esque morning workshop emceed by Mike Capps, president of Epic Games, on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 10:45 – 12:45. Lunch is provided for all pre-registered attendees.

“Hear seven-minute power talks from experts on topics vital for entrepreneurial success. Topics include how to successfully bootstrap your business, how to pursue crowd funding as a viable option for growth, and how to structure your business in order to attract corporate partners.”
